HOW IT STARTED...

The inspiration for Photo Box Sessions came during the year 2020 when I was trying to come up with an idea for my own holiday card and scrolling Pinterest for ideas!  I saw a concept known as In The Box Photography, more commonly done with children that I thought would be fun with my fur-kids.  The concept seemed fitting since it was the year that kept us confined to a box (our homes) and yet required us to think outside the box (for survival and sanity!)...  Even stuck in a box we can tell a full and fun story!

What to Expect

I built an actual box that is 33"x33. It's intended to be dog size but a person can squeeze in...

The bare box is a blank slate!

Most dogs have no issue getting in the box (especially when treats are involved)... But if you think your dog may not want to get in, let's arrange a time before the event day for you to come by the studio and let them check it out. The more comfortable they are on event day, the more we can use the short timeframe to get fun photos! Please contact the photographer if you want to arrange a time to swing by the studio.

Accessory, Prop Inventory

The studio will provide a variety of holiday accessories and props. They can be mixed and matched but are optional - You are welcome to bring your own or keep the box bare.

Frequently Asked Questions

What if my dog won't get in the box?

A.So far most dogs, coaxed by yummy treats, have eventually gotten in the box. But you are welcome to make an appointment to come by the studio before the day of the event to get them comfortable with the box (so we can use our time on even day to get photos).

If we don't have any luck getting them in the box, we'll chat about options.

I can't make it to the event day, are there other options?

A.Yes, if you can't make these dates, the Photo Box Session is available as a private session (Tuesday, Thursday and one Saturday a month). Contact the photographer.

How many pets can be included?

A.More than one pet can be included.

My dog is not very trained and I don't think he will sit still...

A.The majority of people have this concern but I can assure you that it's not all about the perfect sit. Part of the fun is figuring out what works for each unique personality.

Is there a theme?

A.The event days may be themed and have optional props and accessories to use but you are always welcome to bring your own. See event info.
