Ice-Cream FAQs

What kind of ice-cream?

A.I will provide a few options; a doggy ice-cream (has gelatin, doesn't melt well), a regular vanilla (melts well), and a whip cream made for dogs. All options (including cones/cups) have sugar (there's just no getting around it) but none will have xylitol (which is toxic for dogs). If you have concerns, you are welcome to bring an option that you are comfortable giving your dog.

What comes with the session?

A.Events include three low res digital files of your choice (sized for social sharing). You have the option of upgrading the low res digital files and purchasing prints, wall art and high resolution digitals after the event.

How long does it take to get my digitals from the event?

A.You will receive a proof gallery link to make your selections within a few days of the event. Then you can make your selections. The digitals are made available for download after the images are retouched, usually within 1-2 weeks.

My dog won't sit still

A.The majority of people have this concern but usually they are so excited about the ice-cream treat that they will sit - there will also be a platform for them to be on (to keep them in a specific spot)

Can I be in the photo?

A.Your hand will be holding the ice-cream but this event is focused on the dogs eating ice-cream.

How many pets can be included?

A.For the ice-cream event it is ideal that there is one dog per appointment. If there are more than one there will be less variety per dog because of the limited timeframe.

Can I bring my cat?

A.Yes, photos take place in a secure space and cats are welcome to come. Just keep in mind that cats often need more time to acclimate to the new space so it can limit the number of images, and variety we are able to get.

I can't make to to the event date, but I love the motif...

A.Most simple motifs can be done during private nano sessions. The advantage of attending the event is the session fee is less because the setup is for many appointments, but sittings are stacked and limited to 10 minutes. The advantage of the private nano session is you get a little more time (15 minutes).

I live far away and don't want to drive for a ten minute session

A.That's understandable! Although many clients come from the Bay Area for the pet photo events. The Sacramento area is very dog friendly so it can be a fun day trip. Or you can book a private Power Hour (it's three simple motifs in one hour). Contact the photographer for more details.
